CHORDZOID

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

CHORDZOID has no accounts, no sign in, and no server of its own. It is a set of static files.

Your progress stays on your device

If you use the Learn course, which chords you have met and how far you have got are saved in your browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device, because there is nowhere for it to go: the site has no backend to receive it. It also means your progress does not follow you to another browser or another machine unless you take it there yourself: Save to file on the Learn page writes it to a file your browser creates on your device, and Load from file reads one back. Clearing your browsing data for this site erases what is stored here, which is what Reset progress does too. We cannot restore it for you, because we never had it.

What we collect

Nothing. No accounts, no contact forms, no analytics of our own, no profile of you and nothing to sell. We have no way of telling one visitor from another.

Third parties

Optional guitar audio input

If you turn on Guitar Input, CHORDZOID asks for microphone permission so it can read audio from your selected interface or microphone. It processes short audio buffers in your browser to detect individual notes. Audio is not recorded, stored, or uploaded. If you switch Hear your guitar on, that audio is also played to your own speakers or headphones, which goes to this tab’s audio output and nowhere else. Stop listening releases the input. Listening is off when you open a new page.

Children

CHORDZOID is a general audience tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything about them.

Your rights

You may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase, and your Learn progress is already entirely in your hands. Requests about data held by third parties should go to those parties. Questions about this policy go to [email protected].

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, the date at the top changes with it.
